Dog Walking Terms and Conditions

The Client agrees that, in admitting their dog, Actadog Academy has relied on the Client’s representation that their dog is in good health

All dogs being exercised must be fully vaccinated and on a regular flea and worm control regime. The Client agrees to take any necessary measures or precautions to ensure that their dog is continuously free of contagious, infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases. The Client further agrees to notify Actadog Academy immediately of any infectious and/ or contagious disease or conditions their dog has been exposed to or is affected by. Such diseases and conditions include, but are not limited to; Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Leptospirosis, parasite infestations, infectious diseases. Actadog Academy reserve the right to withdraw services until satisfied that the condition has been resolved and there is no further risk to others.

Actadog Academy reserves the right to refuse walks if the Client fails to provide adequate proof of vaccinations, or if the vaccinations are found to be expired.

The Client accepts that even though their dog may be vaccinated against Bordetella (Kennel Cough) there is a chance that their dog can still contract Kennel Cough. The Client agrees that they will not hold Actadog Academy responsible if their dog contracts Kennel Cough. Dog’s which do contract Kennel Cough will not be walked until at least 5 days clear from any coughing.

All dogs will be subject to an initial assessment prior to using Actadog Academy Services. This will be in the form of a meet and greet session.

Actadog Academy will only let dogs off their lead once the ‘off lead consent form’ has been signed, and will remain at the discretion of Actadog Academy.

The Client agrees to notify Actadog Academy immediately of any unwelcome, aggressive, procreative, or dangerous behaviour of their dog that has potential to cause harm to any other dog or individual.

Actadog Academy reserves the right to refuse or withdraw services to any dog deemed in their absolute discretion to be, or have the potential to be dangerous or disruptive.

Bitches in season may still be walked by Actadog Academy, however walks may be solo or with other bitches only.

Bitches that may be pregnant may still be walked by Actadog Academy. These will be assessed on an individual basis and if walking proceeds then they will be reassessed on a weekly basis.

Actadog Academy will care for your animal, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, Actadog Academy cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.

If required dogs will be given a quick towelling off after walks Actadog Academy cannot be held responsible for any dirt/ mess made by your dog in your home after any walk.

The Client consents to their dog being photographed, filmed and/ or used in any social media or advertising by Actadog Academy without prior approval. All such media remain the property of Actadog Academy.

The Client agrees that Actadog Academy will not be held responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing or any other item left with their dog.

Actadog Academy will make adequate steps to ensure your home is safe and secure in your absence; however Actadog Academy cannot be held responsible for any burglaries or accidents caused by your pet(s).

The Client is solely responsible for any and all harm or damage caused by their dog while it is under the care of Actadog Academy, or in using any other services provided by Actadog Academy, and agrees to indemnify Actadog Academy in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.

Actadog Academy offers services where dogs may mix in groups and the client accepts that during the course of normal dog play their dog may sustain injuries. All dog play is carefully monitored to avoid injury and any incidents will be reported to the client.

In accordance with The Veterinary Surgeon Act 1966 Schedule 3 Actadog Academy can perform emergency first aid and CPR on the dog if deemed necessary.

Should the dog become ill or injured whilst in our care, the dog will be taken to the appropriate Veterinary Practice (The Animal Welfare Act 2006). The Client is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or illness that their dog receives or causes while under the care of Actadog Academy, together with any associated costs, e.g. call out charges. The Client authorises the staff of Actadog Academy to seek such veterinary advice and/ or treatment as they deem necessary; where possible this will be carried out by the Client’s usual/ preferred Vet, but this cannot be guaranteed (e.g. in an emergency) and the Client accepts that the staff of Actadog Academy may at their discretion use any registered Veterinary Practice. The Client agrees to pay all such costs immediately upon collection of their dog, or by agreement with the proprietor.

Actadog Academy will apply personal judgement and cut short a walk if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat, heavy rains, thunder storms, etc.) for the safety of both the dogs and Actadog Academy staff. If walks are cut short for these reasons or any other circumstances (e.g. traffic issues causing delays to arrival for the start of the walk, personal reasons, etc.) then the dog will accrue credit which will be added to future walks to make up for any time losses (e.g. if a dog only gets a half hour walk when you have paid for 1 hour, then the half hour credit will be added to future walks, either in one go or several increments). If necessary then Actadog Academy will add on a visit later in the day to ensure dog’s are comfortable.

The Client agrees to provide keys/ arrange access to the dog for the agreed appointment; failure to do so will result in a cancellation for that day’s service and will be paid in full by the client.

The Client agrees that, by signing the key holder form this will indemnify Actadog Academy in full against any liability arising from loss or damage to the property or its contents, in present and future circumstances.

Cancellations of walks must be given with at least 48 hour notice. If the required notice period is not given, charges will be applied in full.

Standard Rates correct as of September 2022are as follows;
Solo Walk 60 minutes - £20Solo Walk 45 minutes - £15Solo Walk 30 minutes- £12.50
Group Walk 60 minutes - £12.50
Visit 30 minute - £6
Clients need to accept the Terms and Conditions of Actadog Academy and understand there will be no variation of these Terms and Conditions unless confirmed by Actadog Academy in writing.
